It is with much delight that they are able to announce the new ownership of Ben Ean, Lindeman’s estate, to the McGuigan and Peterson families, returning the property to its historical roots of the Hunter Valley.
They are also excited to open the first of their new retail spaces;
Shop 1 Hunter Belle Cheese ( the renowned local cheese producer from Scone NSW)
Shop 2 Hunter Valley Olive Oil Co. (full flavour local olive & condiment producer and tastings)
The onsite Restaurant renamed BAUME (pronounced bow-may) is now open 7 days a week for Lunch and Dinner.

Please note that NO open alcohol is allowed on the Hunter Distillery site – patrons seen with open alcohol will be refused admission.
Also, if anyone is deemed intoxicated they (and their whole group if applicable) will be refused admission and asked to leave the site.

With some of the best views in the Hunter Valley, the property was also home to a vineyard full of Shiraz, yet Scarbie knew his money was on the Chardonnay. Whilst a bold move at the time, he made the decision to replant the entire vineyard. With the Chardonnay boom just around the corner, his slightly mad idea was about to pay dividends. Turning out their first vintage in 1987, from the family garage (what is still the cellar door today), and the Scarborough’s dream was in full motion.
Scarborough Wine Co. is one of the most recognized Hunter Valley wineries and a must visit cellar door experience. In 2011 a second cellar door was born; Scarborough on Hermitage, offering the extensive range in a different environment with the same attention to detail that can be found at the Gillards Road property.
They say home is where the heart is and the heart of their family business are their two cellar doors.
They invite you to choose a tasting experience that suits you.
At both their Cellar Doors they currently have a selection of their Offshoot, Classic and ‘The Obsessive’ Ranges available for tasting. When you arrive you can choose from their Offshoot Tasting, Classic Flight and the Get Obsessive Tasting. Our SIP Experience and all Group Tastings (9+ people) must be booked in advance.
